What's so special about BRIC?
Goldman Sachs economists, amongst others, have identified the BRIC economies as being different from other emerging markets because they have the potential to transform the global economy over the coming decades.
This is based on the insight that the BRIC countries have in place the necessary conditions that enable them to sustain high growth rates over time. Combine this fact with huge populations and the result – over the next few decades - could be very large economies with the momentum to change the world economic order.
In addition, there is increasing economic interaction between these
four counties – with India and China acting as the engines of growth, driving demand for commodities and energy supplied by Brazil and Russia. The result is a very compelling investment proposition.
